Cinewax and Amplify Africa present the "African Cinema Days" at the 3rd Annual AFRICON, in Atlanta, Sept 19-20, 2025. Powered by Amplify Africa, AFRICON is an annual conference and cultural festival celebrating the global influence of Africa and the African Diaspora.
Cinewax has been elevating African and Caribbean storytelling through films since 2015, and recently created the African Cinema Days, a traveling concept to highlight African cinema at a global stage.
This year’s sponsor for our first Short film competition is Africa No Filter, an advocacy organisation that is shifting stereotypical narratives about Africa through storytelling that reflects a dynamic continent of progress, innovation and opportunity.
Our theme this year is "Bold narratives and new perspectives" and we are welcoming exciting movies from all over the world that reshape African storytelling and narratives.
This competition is open to any filmmakers from African and the global African diaspora, including the Caribbean, and Afro-centric storytelling.
Submit your film from Aug 11 to Sept 3, 2025, and get a chance to win $5,000!
