STARTUP CHALLENGE REGULATIONS (VR CINEMA REGULATIONS BELOW)

360 VR Fest / GM Barcelona invites national and international startups to present their most innovative projects in development related to Web3 and Metaverse in a pitch during the 360 VR Fest / GM Barcelona 2022 in Barcelona in September 2022.
A select group of investment funds will evaluate the projects and award a prize of €50,000 to the winner.
ELEGIBILITY:
- Must be a privately funded startup.
- Working on technological innovations in new solutions based on Web3 and/or the Metaverse.
- Applications must be submitted in Catalan, Spanish or English.
- Candidates must submit a business plan that includes: name and surname of the representative, name of the startup, description of the startup, description of the project, deck.
- The registration fee is 40€.
FINALISTS:
Selected projects will have to prepare a pitch with a maximum duration of 5 minutes. Projects will be presented to a selected group of investor judges and to the general public who have purchased a ticket for the pitch.
LOCATION:
The pitch will take place in person at the Movistar Centre in Barcelona on September 29th. And 360 VR Fest / GM Barcelona will broadcast the event virtually through its own channels.

Announcement of the 5-10 selected projects*: 16th September 2022
Startup Challenge Pitch: 29th September 2022
*Final number of participants will depend on the volume and quality of proposals received.
PRIZES:
1st: €50,000 to the most innovative project, chosen by a panel of investment funds.
2nd: Special Mention to the second most innovative project, chosen by a panel of investment funds. No cash prize.
3rd: Special Mention to the third most innovative project, chosen by a panel of investment funds. No cash prize.

EVALUATION CRITERIA:
Finalists and winners will be selected based on the judges' evaluation of the following equally weighted criteria:
- TECHNOLOGY FOR GOOD / RESPONSIBLE INNOVATION FOR A RADICALLY BETTER WORLD - Does this innovative product address a significant global challenge to society and/or the environment, and can this startup's product have a wide-reaching impact on the same?
- MARKET FITNESS OF PRODUCT - Is there sufficient traction and scale in the addressable market for sufficient growth and profit to be an attractive investment?
- PRODUCT INNOVATION - Is this a disruptive innovation that is differentiated from other competitive or substitute offerings?
- TEAM - Is this team uniquely qualified to develop this project? Do they have a good understanding of their users and the industry and ecosystem in which they operate? Do they have the determination and endurance to carry this through to completion?
EXPENSES:
Candidates will be responsible for the expenses related to their participation in 360 VR Fest / GM Barcelona (travelling, accommodation or fees).
GENERAL CONDITIONS:
- 360 VR Fest / GM Barcelona undertakes to the best of its abilities to maintain the confidentiality of participants' non-public data. GM Barcelona! will not disseminate the non-public information of the participants to third parties without the consent of the participant. The participant understands that such information may be shared with judges and partners, who agree on their part not to disseminate the information to third parties. 360 VR Fest / GM Barcelona advises participants to include only non-confidential information in their entries. All confidential information provided is at the participant's own risk.
-Participants undertake to submit original projects, of which they are creators and holders of all rights, e.g. copyright, moral rights, patents, trademark rights, design rights, publicity rights, and other intellectual property rights.
-Participants authorize 360 VR Fest / GM Barcelona to disseminate the name and public data of the projects. The information may be disseminated internationally through 360 VR Fest / GM Barcelona website and digital channels, as well as by third parties authorized by 360 VR Fest / GM Barcelona
-Participants authorize 360 VR Fest / GM Barcelona and its authorized collaborators to use the name, voice, photo or video image, including parts of the participant's speech, for communication and promotion purposes, always in connection with the Startup Challenge. This includes the broadcasting via streaming of the pitch, as well as the distribution and promotion by audiovisual or printed, digital or analog media.
- 360 VR Fest / GM Barcelona will not be responsible for all entries that are incomplete or inaccessible due to transmission errors or damaged files, as well as all projects that are entered past the deadline.

VR CINEMA REGULATIONS
1. ORGANIZATION AND OBJECTIVES
The 360 VR Fest / GM Barcelona is the first Virtual Reality film festival held in Spain. On September 27th, 28th, 29th and 30th, 2022, it will celebrate its 6th edition where the quality and innovation of national and international virtual reality short films will be awarded.
The contest is organised by Mecal, that organises the Mecal Pro, the Barcelona International Short and Animation Film Festival.
2. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION
2.1. The 6th 360 VR Fest / GM Barcelona is open to all directors, producers and distributors of short films, experiences or any audiovisual piece created in virtual reality, from any country.
2.2. ONLY VR WORKS (animation, fiction or documentary) PRODUCED AFTER JANUARY 1, 2021, ARE ACCEPTED.
2.3 All VR formats and themes are accepted as long as they have a version for Samsung Gear VR, Google Cardboard, YouTube 360 ​​or with the technical specifications of point 2.10
2.4 The festival will have a single section.
2.5 There is no duration limit.
2.6 There is no registration fee.
2.7 The organisation reserves the right to use extracts (maximum 20 seconds) or frames of the works selected for their promotion and from the 6th 360 VR Fest / GM Barcelona.
2.8 All titles will be available to professionals and accredited attendees in the VR cinema of the event to be viewed, respecting and safeguarding copyright. In no case will the works leave the 6th 360 VR Fest / GM Barcelona.
2.9 The registration deadline is September 12th, 2022.
2.10. Description of the materials to be sent and how to send them:
1) Fill in the FilmFreeway registration form.
2) Send a link of the VR experience through YouTube 360 ​​or by sending a video with the following technical characteristics:
MPG4 to 2048x1152 H264 codec 30fps stereo ACC audio
2.11 The selection committee will be made up of festival programmers and VR specialists.
2.12 The producers or distributors must guarantee to be in legal possession of the rights of the project, including those indirectly related (for example, music).

4. SELECTION
4.1 The selected short films will be published on the website of the 6th 360 VR Fest / GM Barcelona in the month of September 2022.
4.2 The organisation will previously notify the authors of the works of their selection.
5. REGISTRATION CONDITIONS
5.1 Participation in the 6th 360 VR Fest / GM Barcelona implies full acceptance of these regulations.
SHORT FILMS & VIRTUAL REALITY EXPERIENCES

1. All works produced after January 1, 2021 are accepted.
2. There is no duration limit.
3. Country of production: all.

5. Genre: Animation, fiction, documentary, video art, video clip, in any of its forms.
