The 29 Queer Film Festival is dedicated to showcasing the creativity and diversity of queer filmmakers from the high desert and around the world. Our festival offers an intimate yet dynamic program that includes narrative and documentary features, short films, music videos, and special presentations. With screenings, panels, and performances, the festival aims to foster dialogue, inspire new ideas, and promote LGBTQ+ representation through the art of cinema.

Rules & Terms

We accept short film, feature film, and music video submissions. Submissions do not have to have a connection to the desert, but we do like to highlight local filmmakers and films made in desert regions. Recent films (released within the past year) are prioritized. LGBTQ+ content and creators are prioritized.

Submission fee discounts available for BIPOC filmmakers and local high desert filmmakers. E-mail or DM us for more information.

Programming is subject to the discretion of the 29 Queer Film Festival organizers.

    I really enjoyed being part of this festival. Communication was consistent and clear, and I appreciated that all selected films were featured on the festival’s social media. The event was well organized and, most importantly, a lot of fun.
