The 29 Queer Film Festival is dedicated to showcasing the creativity and diversity of queer filmmakers from the high desert and around the world. Our festival offers an intimate yet dynamic program that includes narrative and documentary features, short films, music videos, and special presentations. With screenings, panels, and performances, the festival aims to foster dialogue, inspire new ideas, and promote LGBTQ+ representation through the art of cinema.

Coyote Courage Award, Best Short Film, Best Feature, Audience Award

Application Deadline: June 15, 2024

We accept short film, feature film, and music video submissions. Submissions do not have to have a connection to the desert, but we do like to highlight local filmmakers and films made in desert regions. Recent films (released within the past year) are prioritized. LGBTQ+ content and creators are prioritized.

Programming is subject to the discretion of the 29 Queer Film Festival organizers.

Cannot speak highly enough of this festival. The organizers are fantastic, friendly, and supportive. The community around the festival is vibrant, queer, and an absolute CELEBRATION of queer joy. We met so many interesting people, and EVERYBODY is somebody we would be honored to work with in the future.
