Ozarks Film Summit & YonderFest

The Ozarks Film Co-Op is the region's only member-owned filmmaker cooperative working to build a thriving film industry in the Missouri Ozarks. We are working to train filmmakers and accelerate the development of an indie film community and regional production hub in the Ozarks. We are doing this through filmmaker education and cultural programming, skills workshops, organizing showcases and special events, and by connecting area filmmakers with the global film industry.

On June 20, 2024, the Ozarks Film Co-Op hosted the first-ever Ozarks Film Summit & Filmmaker Showcase. Nearly 15 short films were screened including the one that attracted the interest of producer Gina G. Goff, who would go on to develop a $6 million feature based on the work that is set to shoot in Spring 2025.

On October 3, 2024, the Ozarks Film Co-Op will present the Second Ozarks Film Summit & YonderFest (Filmmaker Showcase). We are partnered with Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, where we will be screening films and presenting filmmakers to the audience.

The program includes a meeting of the Co-Op membership at 4:00 p.m. with industry experts on select topics of interest to anyone who wants to help build a film industry in the lower Midwestern states; followed by an industry social mixer at 5:00 p.m., a speakers program at 6:00 p.m., and a screening program that begins at 6:30 p.m.

Filmmakers are invited to all events, where we hope they and other invited leaders, will talk shop and begin building new collaborations that extend beyond the Ozarks. We look forward to learning from filmmakers and regions also working to develop local film industries. We look forward to meeting you!

We also look forward to meeting film fans who want to support the creation of a film community in the Ozarks. The goal of the Ozarks Film Co-Op is to advance cinema and the production of movies, TV, and new media so these become as commonplace in the lives of locals as baseball, outdoor sports, and apple pie.

PLEASE NOTE: We are not seeking features at this time. Films must be between 6 and 15 minutes long. Shorter films may be considered.
