Initiation
Since its establishment in 2010, Indigenous Peoples Cultural Foundation (IPCF) has been adhering to the mission of “cultural dissemination” and has actively promoted indigenous cultural affairs. This year, to develop a communication and observation platform for indigenous film & TV industry professionals, accumulate industrial expertise, and build a mechanism of cultural knowledge production, IPCF organizes MATA TIFF to gather international film and TV talents, achieve international linkages and connection of multiple resources. MATA TIFF invites domestic and international high-quality films as well as plans the “New Horizons” Taiwanese student film competition, assembling a variety of creative forms such as documentaries, videos, animations, short videos, etc., to respond to the trend and development of the new media era, and to create video aesthetics— “Video art dedicates to indigenous society” as the goal.
緣起
自2010年成立以來，財團法人原住民族文化事業基金會秉持「文化傳播」為經營理念，積極推展原住民文化事務。今年，為發展原住民影視產業人士交流觀摩平台，累積產業專業知能，以及建構文化知識生產機制，原文會舉辦「MATA台灣原住民文化影視節」，藉以凝聚國際影視人才，達到國際串聯與多方資源的連結，並邀集國內外優質影片以及規劃「新視野影像競賽」，匯集紀錄片、錄像、動畫、短視頻等多種創意形式，以回應新媒體時代趨勢與發展，並創建影像美學，即「獻給原住民社會的影像藝術」為目標。
Purposes of “New Horizons” Student Film Competition
To encourage the young generation to express the indigenous modern issues through videos, fully demonstrate their unique observation and thinking ability, as well as promote the diverse and creative development of cultural dissemination through the application of mass media, enhances the understanding and interaction between different ethnic groups.
「新視野影像競賽」目的
為鼓勵年輕世代以影像表達原住民現代議題，充分展現獨特觀察與思考力，並藉大眾媒介促進原住民文化傳播的多元創意發展，增進跨族群間之瞭解與互動。
Students from Universities and Colleges
First prize, 1 recipient will receive a NT$50,000 cash prize and 1 trophy.
Second prize, 1 recipient will receive a NT$30,000 cash prize and 1 trophy.
Third prize, 1 recipient will receive a NT$10,000 cash prize and 1 trophy.
Prize for Distinction, 5 recipients will receive a NT$10,000 cash prize and 1 award certificate.
Working Students
First prize, 1 recipient will receive a NT$50,000 cash prize and 1 trophy.
