The 1World Comedy Film Festival is a unique, one of a kind, and very special kind of festival that is geared for the enjoyment of its audiences. We are looking for entertaining, innovative, dynamic and hilarious short films, music videos, mockumentaries, animations, cartoons, filmed live stand up comedy, sketch or improv sets, web series, social media sketches from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram etc.. If you feel your work can engage and delight our audiences then we would love to see it.

The festival combines the best of cinema and live performance. We screen the most engaging short films, music videos, animations and more along with the most hilarious comedy performers to create a sublimely satisfying festival event for our audiences. The festival is held in various locations around the United Kingdom, drawing on both nationally known and local talent for the live performances and worldwide for the cinematic element.

The directors of the festival are filmmakers, performers and event promoters who have been involved in the UK media industry for over 15 years. As much as we love traditional film festivals, we felt there was a unique opportunity to combine the excitement of cinema and live performance in the same venue. It’s a great pleasure to be able to showcase rising talents and their work and to see audiences appreciate their output.

Our festival will give our audiences a chance to see comedy and entertainment in all its guises, both in the flesh and on celluloid. We attract filmmakers and performers who understand the magic of being part of a festival that is fresh and original and committed to entertaining an audience. The works will be judged by a panel of filmmakers, cineastes and performers. We look forward to viewing your submission!

Awards will be curated by a panel of judges involved in the comedy & film industries.

Rules & Terms

The 1World Comedy Film Festival's decision is final, and we cannot enter into discussion about films not accepted.

If your film is chosen to screen in competition, we will send you an acceptance email and request a digital transfer of your short film. The file must be received by the date stated in the acceptance email, or your film will not be screened.

If selected, your film can only be screened for the festival edition you have submitted to. We cannot postpone screenings of your film to later festivals.

1World Comedy Film Festival is hereby granted the right to utilize for up to a year after the festival an excerpt from any film submitted and accepted for exhibition at the Festival for promotional purposes. The individual or corporation submitting the film hereby warrants that it is authorized for up to a year after the festival to commit the film for screening (including but not limited to multiple screenings in multiple U.K. and International locations), and understands and accepts these requirements and regulations.

By submitting your entry you consent to, and have obtained all necessary consents for (and agree to provide copies of the same on request), all or any part of the production being reproduced for up to a year after the festival by the Organizers and/or any other parties authorized by the Organizers and/or broadcast by a third party in any media (e.g. press, television, internet or telephone download), solely in relation to, and in support of, the Festival provided that, wherever reasonably possible, the author of the work is given appropriate notification and credit.*

*Please note that we will notify you if we intend to curate your work in programs outside of the festival screenings and you will be given the opportunity to opt out.
