It’s a festival in your pocket, your purse, your backpack! No need to drive to a venue, find parking, walk to the theater, buy a ticket. We’ve skipped all that and just went straight for the good stuff.

We’re not only looking for hardcore filmmakers, but ANYONE who owns a smartphone and has a little creativity. Why 15 Seconds? Ask Tout or Instagram. It forces filmmakers to get to the point right away, to tell a quick story and leaves their audience wanting more. Your audience will never drift away, tune out or walk out. Even the person with the shortest attention span will get your film!

We want your film if it’s original, dynamic, weird, touching, hysterical or thought-provoking. Anyone can shoot a 15 second film on their phone with just a little bit of planning and little to no budget.

Submit your film for the hell of it, for accolades, or because your mother think’s your Spielberg. It’s only $5 to submit and who knows … maybe we’ll select your film for our “featured” channel with Tout where a boatload of people can view from their phones or computer. This is where your film has a chance to go viral. And maybe you’ll end up a winner with a crap load of gear to shoot your next smartphone film along with bragging rights and a hit film. Now wouldn’t that be sweet?

Rules & Terms

Please read our Terms and Conditions BEFORE submitting your short.

Max length: 15 SECONDS. Although a filmmaker can submit up to four-15 second segments that continue the story from one clip to the next. A separate entry fee per 15 seconds is required.

By submitting your film, you agree to the following:

-You must be 18 and over to submit a film.
-Your film must be shot entirely on a smartphone or tablet
-Your short film must be maximum of 15 seconds. You can also, however, submit a one minute film broken down into four (4) 15-second films. There will be a separate payment required for every 15 second film submitted, whether the story is continued or not.
-You must not include end credits.
-You CAN add a front title.
-The short film must be an original production and may not infringe on the copyright, trademark or other rights of any individual or company.
-The film must not be available for viewing anywhere online, only through our film festival through the run of the festival. Viewing on Facebook, Youtube, etc. will be cause for disqualification.
-You agree to give the 15 Second Phone Fest exclusive rights to screen your film (either on our website, Tout.com or other video platform) during the entire run of the restival. After the conclusion of the festival, you are free to upload/present your film as you wish.
-Foreign films are welcome. However, ENGLISH SUBTITLES must be present (if needed to tell the story).
-Films must be sent in one of the following formats only: .mp4 or .avi
-No nudity, profanity, extreme violence, racist content.
-You can edit your film on your smartphone, or computer. No restrictions.
-You may add special effects to your film, but only to enhance the film which was shot entirely on your smartphone.
-We reserve the right to exchange listed prizes for other products of equal or higher value.
