1 – THE FESTIVAL:
The International “Cinema Povero” Film Festival is open to everybody: rich
film-makers, poor film-makers of any gender or religion all welcome provided
they have developed a beautiful, original idea on a limited budget.
2 – HOW TO SUBMIT THE SHORT FILMS AND SCREENPLAY:
Competitors can upload a digital screene to international platforms FilmFreeway.
Mandatory requirements: any film or screenplay must be downloadable.
3 - CATEGORIES:
- ITALIAN SHORT FILMS (fiction; documentaries; animation)
- NON-ITALIAN SHORT FILMS (fiction; documentaries; animation)
under 20 minutes in lengt made after January 1, 2023:
Subtitles: in Italian if the dialogues are in another language or dialect.
Films longer than 20 minutes will be considered, but will compete only for the
"Special Jury Mention";
All rights of the work will remain the property of the authors or whoever acts
for them.
4 - SCREENPLAY COMPETITION
maximum length of works: 20 pages, translated into italian
on the first page:................. title of the work, name and address of the author;
on the second page: .......... brief synopsis of the story;
are allowed: ........................ scripts translated into Italian using AI or others
translator;
Are not allowed: .......................scripts already winners of other competitions or
submitted to the our Festival in previous
competitions;
Upon request, scripts can be sent in PDF format directly to the Festival's email
address : festivaldelcinemapovero@gmail.com with payment of the registration fee
via PayPal.
5 – DEADLINE:
The deadline for sending the films and screenplays is set for 15 June 2025
hours 23:59 C.E.T.
6 – SECRETARIAL FEES:
Secretarial fees for the Cultural Association “Cinema Povero” are € 10.= (ten
euros) or $ 11= (eleven U.S.A. $).
The secretarial fees are non-refundable for any reason.
Films coming from countries affected by international embargo do not pay the
secretarial fee Films. Please contact the festival for the exemption code.
7 – FINALISTS:
- The Jury will formulate the Final Official Selection.
- The finalist films will be presented to the public during the Festival evenings
and submitted to the public vote.
- The finalist authors will be notified by the distribution company,
by international platforms or directly to the email address indicated by the
author.
- Authors non-admitted to the Final Official Selection, will not be notified.
8 – PRIZES:
BEST ITALIAN SHORT € 1000=
BEST NON-ITALIAN SHORT € 1000=
BEST SCREENPLAY € 1000=
“CITY OF ISPRA” € 500=
Special Mentions:
Other prizes will be chosen by the Jury.
Important:
Prizes will be handed only to Italian Finalist or them Delegates, attending the
Awards Ceremony. They will NOT be shipped nor credited.
Cash prizes will NOT be credited to winners from Countries under International
embargo nor to their delegates residing in Countries free from restrictions.
