Presentation of the art department for the 100th anniversary

Martin Elementary School of Art has influenced the artistic and cultural life of the city of Martin for 100 years. It is presented through the art department, where teachers present a variety of art departments - from drawing to painting to 2D and 3D digital software. PhDr. Peter Klimek reflects on the times in our present society. He wonders if they teach students in a creative way, but also in a comprehensive way. The answer for him is the archive of students' works during 43 years of his teaching experience at the Elementary School of Art in Martin.

Director Statement

I chose to direct this film because the Martin Elementary School of Art was celebrating its 100th anniversary. I remember when I studied there piano lessons as a child for 3 years. It was for me the pleasure when the professor of the art department after some years came to me and asked for help to create a short movie about their art department. I was inspired by the work of 2 movies to create this film. It was "An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power" and "the social dilemma". It's hard to say exactly what inspired me, but I can say it was mostly the genre and the way in which they created their films. Working with some teachers was special because they brought some interesting point of view about their topic. I mainly liked the last one. The fun part is, we started with him. But I was surprised by what he said and I definitely wanted him at the end of the film. I'm thankful ZUŠ Martin and mainly Mgr. art. Marek Kokoška for trusting me. The cooperation from the whole crew was incredible, and I'm glad we did that.
