Private Project

whisper of wrath

A painter tells the story of her silenced voice on the Champs-Elysées like a corypheus. The Universe gives her strength through history of art and its legends, and a stronger voice through her painting. We are in the Music kiosk, surrounded by trees moved by the wind, like a choir accompanying her. In the afternoon sky, clouds and birds blend into the paintings. The artist wears dark glasses and a silk gauze covered in handwritten signs. Some wind and string instruments echo the words and the wind.

Director Statement

Since 2020, I have been working on a series of films, which I call « litterary », as they have texts as main characters. Another series have been dedicated to painting in action and through a collaboration with the artist Stefania Kenley, the performance in the act of painting. This film gathers the two strands, the voice recalling, just like the music, past times and faraway sounds. This is how the film is made, through the enlargement of the frame, the editing rhythm, the distribution in the space of the projection of sound.
The text is spoken in front of the paintings made for the poem in an Artist's Book, they are words in action, illuminating the sky and engaging the imagination.
