Vaibhav Gattani's strong desire to tell a story that reaches and touches a common peoples heart is what keeps him going.
He was always interested in filmmaking but was not confident enough about making it as a career. He is a Btech civil engineer and right in his 1st year of engineering he realized that making films is the only thing that he wants to do for the rest of his life. That was the time when he listened to his heart and decided to make a career in films and started learning filmmaking simultaneously. He has done a specialization in Vfx and has been doing many online filmmaking courses.
He has Written, Directed, Shot, Acted and Edited few short films which has also been produced under his banner ICESCAPE FILMS.
On surface the movie seems to be about Rhea’s journey to conception - to what extent she goes when she is not able to conceive a child!
But the real movie is about the perplexities of human relation and behavior.
It is a very matured and meaningful movie with lot of subtle emotions.
Just like that, even the title VOID has 2 meanings to it.
1 - Rhea is empty from inside i.e., without a child.
2 - All the 4 characters are basically empty from inside!
The treatment of the movie is kept very natural and subtle. All the characters are grey and realistic. There are so many emotions that humans feel but never talk about. Hence, there are very few dialogues and the language used is colloquial.
Since all the characters and emotions are so natural, realistic and relatable, I chose not to tell but to make the audience feel each and every emotion and let them decide what the characters are going through.
As “Some things can only be felt and not told in words.”
Every individual will connect the movie with their own life and will have a unique perspective and interpretation. This freedom and openness is what makes VOID so beautiful and unique.
VOID clearly has many messages and I have told them in a very subtle way.
I feel that humans have all the knowledge and they don’t need someone to tell them what to do. But just that sometimes we forget to ask ourselves the questions!
So as a Filmmaker, I tend to end my movie with a lot of questions because humans have all the answers but not the questions!
