After his 1992 debut in the multi-awarded "Il Ladro di Bambini" by Gianni Amelio, his early career is notable for his participation in art films. He appears shortly after in "Libera" by Pappi Corsicato, who will choose him as the leading role in his next movie, the controversial and acclaimed "I Buchi Neri".

In 1995, the Geneva festival lists him as one of the most promising european actors and in that same year he stars in Wilma Labate's "La Mia Generazione", which wins an Oscar nomination as best foreign film.

In 1998 he is in "Per Tutto il Tempo che ci Resta" and the following year he stars in leading roles in three movies: "Un Uomo Perbene", "Vuoti a Perdere" and "Prima del Tramonto", the latter being a real triumph at the Annecy festival. Carlo Vanzina's film "Quello che le Ragazze non Dicono" marks his first participation in a commercial project. He then returns to independent movies, like the touching "L'Amore di Marja", "I Banchieri di Dio", "Sulla Mia Pelle", "La Repubblice di San Gennaro", "Legami Sporchi", "Quando una Donna non Dorme", etc.

He appears in several TV series produced by RAI and by Mediaset, among which, "Il Commissario Montalbano", "Capri", "Il Bello delle Donne", "Rosso San Valentino", "La Leggenda del Bandito e del Campione', "Non è stato mio Figlio", "La Piovra 8", etc.

On the stage he acts opposite Isabel Roussinova in "Il Postino Suona Sempre Due Volte" directed by Enrico Maria La Manna and in 2005 he directs the comedy "Maestri d'Amore".

Recently he is touring with his one man play "Napoli cu' Poco e Niente", dedicated to the memory of Totò, and has directed many independent short films. At the moment he is preparing his first feature film.

Vincenzo is also a superb self-taught singer and guitarist, ranging from classic neapolitan songs to pop music, to cabaret.
