George Reese is a writer, director, and producer of short films, feature films, and web series.
His career began in television in the 1990's with PA work on shows such as The People's Court, USA Network's Up All Night, and ESPN's Up Close. His hobby in online game programming, however, sidetracked him into the technology world during the Internet boom.
Throughout the rest of the 90's and the 2000's, George became a technology thought-leader in emerging technologies such as Java, MySQL, and cloud computing. He is the author of many technology books and founded three technology companies.
After successfully selling his cloud computing startup to Dell in 2013, George returned to television and film by writing and directing short films. Through his latest startup, Seeka TV, he entered the world of the web series where he has produced over a dozen digital series and serves as the Founder and Co-Director of the Minnesota WebFest.
In putting together a pilot for Utopia Planitia, I wanted to help tell the backstory that gets otherwise left out in the first season. The result is this flashback episode that tells of the fall of Earth.
