Director Biography

José Cardoso, Cuenca, Ecuador, 1984.

The documentary, fiction and animation stop motion films made in Ecuador, Spain, Mexico and South Africa by José Cardoso in his seven years of experience, have won several national awards and have been featured in prestigious festivals in Spain, Italy, France, Taiwan, Russia, Ecuador, Colombia and Argentina, as the RAI Cartoons on the Bay Pulcinella Awards, the International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalunya, among others. In 2012 he won the National Film Board of Ecuador with whom he embarked on his first feature documentary titled Searching for Wajari. This year (2015) he was selected to represent with this film, to Ecuador in the Marché du Cannes Films Festival. Currently he is working on several documentaries and fictional film projects in Africa.
