Director Statement

This film represents a reunion with my longtime collaborator Jonathan Marballi. After meeting during our time at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in NY we have made many shorts, sketches, and series together over the years. In every regard I believe we have refined our craft as artists through our many collaborations and I believe the strength of "Uber Ex" is emblematic of that.

As a director, I was drawn to "Uber Ex" not only to once again work with Jon, but also to further explore the dynamics of modern relationships. In this specific case, how they can be affected by the convenience of technology. It can be both a benefit and a curse and with this film perhaps it can force us to confront our arrested development and either cause us to succumb to it’s embrace or find the strength to move on.
