The Tap Story

I have always tried to mix up my different passions while choosing a project to work on. When I heard a local competition was being organized in the city, I collected a small unit with an idea that I thought was fascinating. Since this was my first attempt at filmmaking, I did not write a screenplay, just a plot with a shot list was made for the ease of cinematographer who had come on board. We shot this film in two days at the boys' hostel of our engineering college. I edited in 6-7 hours and had test screenings for my friends, I received their feedback and then went for the final cut. We managed to make a film we believed in, inside the deadline. We, unfortunately, weren't in the top five films in that competition, but the motivation I had received from my friends and family was immense, so much so that I am learning amateurishly to be a filmmaker in future. And that's how The Tap Story has proved as foundation for my exploration in this particular field.
