Experiencing Interruptions?

The Mix

An audio engineer must stop her own podcast host's live stream before the violence his words ignite reaches their door in this hyper-stylized, razor-sharp takedown of our modern information age.

Director Biography

Filmmaker, storyteller, and musician. Los Angeles.
I create genre-blending films that explore identity, alienation, and the post-truth age through a lens that’s raw, stylized, and personal. Each project expands an ecosystem of mood, mythology, and like-minded collaborators.

Originally from New Jersey, I studied at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, where my short Boy Code — a meditation on misguided young men in America — was selected by the late Manfred Kirchheimer to premiere at Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis, Cannes Court Métrage, and the Soho Film Festival.

Outside of narrative work, I’ve built a multidisciplinary career in media and creative marketing. Highlights include producing an interview with Barack and Michelle Obama at Time Inc., and winning multiple Clio Awards as a movie trailer editor — experiences that sharpened both my storytelling instincts and my cinematic eye.

Now based in LA with my fiancée and dog, I’m developing two feature scripts. I’m always collaborating with fearless creatives who push the form and the feeling of cinema — and I'm particularly drawn to stories that live in the gray.

Director Statement

It's fair to say that the cons of social networking have greatly contributed to the divisive, short-circuited culture we're living in today. The Mix was born out of a frustration and anger with people close to me parroting headlines and trending topics without ever truly taking the time to investigate them - and even worse changing their personalities to fit those narratives.

The paradox is stark— mindlessly diving into online rabbit holes distorts your mind and your relationships, but total disengagement may even be more damaging to the collective.

Through its biting style and dramatic narrative my hope is that The Mix both entertains and challenges viewers to ask themselves: "What is my individual role in our collective issues?"
