the little princess & her infinite prime gaps
Once upon a time, there was a little princess whose dream was to become a filmmaker. She lived among other ordinary beings in a very ordinary village. One day, she decided to start an adventure into the wild. After endless days of loneliness, she got lost & had become the little girl who wandered among abandoned places to search for a place called home.
This is the little girl’s journal of her life-long adventure finding treasure in the grown-up world. Sometime along the way, she got confused & forgot who she was among strangers. She lost her sense of home & drifted into the unknown with the hope of figuring out the meaning of this journey.

Chau Bich Hong (Anne) was born & raised in the suburb of Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam. In 2015, she moved to Thailand to study Computer Graphics & Multimedia at Bangkok University while learning Thai. After one year, she transferred to the Thai campus to pursue her Film degree. She stayed in Thailand to work as an editor after graduating & continues making films in her free time.
Hong’s work revolves around experimenting with simple & childish concepts to create something that can evoke the audience’s repressed thoughts & emotions. She views cinema as a powerful medium of storytelling & is fascinated by its capabilities to express abstract matters within limited form.
Hong values the traditional process of making art & believes contemporary artists must make more efforts to protect their unique visions against mediocrity in this chaotic era of growing technology. Her vocation is to search for the truth in life & tell stories from her heart.
I want to dedicate this film to every adventurer in the grown-up world where everyone just stops dreaming & searching for things that matter. When I was younger, it troubled my heart to see my friends hiding their dreams from adults simply because the grown-ups valued different things in life. Ten years ago, a friend of mine told me about a little dream she had for her future but didn’t have the courage to realize it. We were both young & the word ‘future’ seemed so big & far away. I also had a little dream I wanted to pursue so badly but didn’t know how to get there.
As we grow up, some of us try to forget those childish dreams because they seem unreal & unimportant in this very serious world. We try to ignore the voices deep down in our hearts telling us about the magical land of dreams & passions because we can’t find any instruction on how to get there.
My biggest inspiration for this film is the book ‘The Little Prince’ by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry which is about the importance of keeping our childhood’s essence when growing up. For me, it’s crucial to approach life with an innocent & childlike mindset to explore & create our own path into the unknown.
This film is a combination of fiction & documentary merged into one single storyline to express the inner & outer experiences in the form of cinema. Inspired by the French New Wave’s approach to cinema, the film’s goal is to stir up the audience’s abandoned emotions while exploring the new potential of cinema.
