Leonardo Pérez, born in Mérida, Venezuela, is a 17-year-old young man whose passion for literature since childhood led him to start writing his first novel titled Veneno at just 13 years old, which eventually turned into a trilogy that concluded in 2019, the same year he released his short novel Bitácoras de Leonardo en Crisis Existencial, a story about the national blackout and crisis in Venezuela. Within months, he began planning his next novel, Destellos Naranjas, which took 3 years to publish. This novel was his most acclaimed work by the public, receiving a positive reception and over a thousand reads on Wattpad. Alongside his love for literature, he has been passionate about movies since a young age, and watching films was his favorite pastime. In 2021, he took a film directing course, leading to the creation of an idea for his first short film, Tenue, which he wrote, directed, produced, edited, and starred in. Inspired by nostalgia and conceived as an ode to forgetting melancholy, Tenue premiered in April 2024 and has been awarded and recognized in diverse International Film Festivals.
