Lee Daehan began his creative journey by drawing comics in his childhood. During high school, he decided to pursue filmmaking and went on to study film directing. After building his foundation through university and production work, he has continued to make films consistently, taking on multiple roles including screenwriting, directing, producing, cinematography, and editing. His filmography is marked by continuous experimentation with different genres each year, yet remains firmly grounded in horror.
For Lee, horror is not merely a genre choice but a form best suited to confronting fundamental human conditions such as violence, anxiety, and death. This sensibility is reflected in the fact that his films have primarily screened at horror and genre film festivals, often in midnight sections. Observing the world through a pessimistic lens, his work persistently examines the fragile aspects of human beings and society, driven by anger and unease. Following the world premiere of his debut feature DEBONE in Japan in 2025, his film continues its international screenings worldwide.
