Cinema is a matter of what's in the frame and what's out
Stuart began his career in the theatre, where at the age of 19 he set up a touring theatre company. After co-writing and directing his first short film at the age of 22, Stuart decided to move on to study performance at university. It was here that he established himself as a writer and director and went on to make a number of short films, which over the last 20 years have been shown in the UK and Europe. In 2015 Stuart set up the production company NineLadiesFIlm with the intention of producing Indie Horror Films. Since the inception of the company he has written and directed the award winning short films In Limbo, and The Telephone and more recently The Collector. He is also in development for a feature film entitled Vanished. As a director Stuart counts his influences from directors such as Michael Powell, Hitchcock, Kubrick, Ingmar Bergman, Tarkovsky, Goddard and Woody Allen.
