Street Art

With my classmate Trini Krpan as a producer I decided to create a short documentary film about street art in Croatia. As our IB Art program encourages us to meet the local artists and engage into a local art culture, we decided to contact some of the most famous street artist in Croatia willing to find out more about it. We contacted them over Facebook and were very surprised with their openness and will to help us and to participate in this project. We followed Lonac, Lunar, Chez186 and Sumski while they were working and also interviewed them. For me as a director this was a wonderful experience because I believe that we learn the most in practise and I can say that I learned a lot; about street art and about filmmaking. Trini was mostly contacting the artists and asking them questions while I was filming. Without her this whole journey would be impossible because she was always here to help with everything, to organize the filming schedule and to borrow the equipment. In the editing we had some help from my friend Natasa Vidakovic who I met while making a documentary at the workshop in Krsko. Together with previously created concept together we edited the movie. The whole process took us about 1-2 months and when I look back from now I am still surprised with our incredible and unexpected success. We accomplished every filmmakers’ dream and that is for their film to be seen.
