Director Biography - Itay Emanuel Omer

Born and raised in Jerusalem, Israel.
Studied and worked as an Electrical Engineer, but decided to move to Barcelona to attend ESCAC, the Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia, to pursue a career in filmmaking.
Co-produced the feature film "Akirah" and produced several short films in Spain and Israel.
"Soy Futbolista " is Itay's second’s short film as a Director & Writer.

Director Statement

I am a huge sports fan and my biggest dream was to be a professional athlete. Football and basketball players were and continue to be my heroes.
Playing your favorite sport in front of thousands is a dream come true. The fallout from this dream is challenging and interesting to dig into.
Most people reach the heights of their careers when they are in their 30s, and athletes must begin everything from scratch.
I find this difficulty interesting, and I believe it is a topic that needs to be discussed.
