Ben Hohener is a young horror writer/director from Toronto. With a focus on creating disturbing projects that crawl under your skin, his short-film directorial debut Some Like It Rotten is a testament to that philosophy.

Director Statement

Some Like It Rotten is based on a short story I wrote in October of 2024. I've always been a writer first, director second, and I wanted to make a project with a strong script and characters first and foremost, which I hopefully achieved with SLIR. The story is one of intimacy, a deeply flawed and twisted form of intimacy, but intimacy nonetheless, between two characters who couldn't have opposite worldviews. Logen and Britches are both inhuman, but despite that, are both desperate to share a shred of humanity between them.
