UPDATE 2019-03-21: We did not have a lot of submissions for this festival so we are going to include all submissions into our main festival, SARCE AUS (Austin TX). We will not be doing SARCE Attic AUS this year as a separate event. We will have a segment of the fest called Attic, which will feature films made over five year ago.

Shiz Annual Red Carpet Events (SARCE) is the building of a collective of emerging and seasoned filmmakers who wish to bring a positive and entertaining spin to the world of cinema. We are open to filmmakers of all genres; to include documentaries, animations, comedy, horror, action, and human interest. It takes a lot of time, energy, money, and creativity to create. This event is to bring forth the hard work we put into our films.

Our main event, SARCE ( https://filmfreeway.com/SARCE ), is for newer movies. SARCE Attic is about those dusty old films you got laying around. Films must be 5 years or older.

SARCE is hosted by Shiz, LLC and Evolve.Forward.Media Productions, LLC. Shiz and Evolve.Forward.Media are a veteran and family owned production company. The directors of SARCE are U.S. military war veterans.

SARCE is devoted to all narrative films of all genres that are committed to diversity, authenticity, and show a conscious and curiosity of the world around us. Starting out as a red carpet event, we are now opening our commitment to community and collaboration to many filmmakers.

With the success of our first event, February 25, 2017, we feel that we can honor your hard work on a large silver screen in beautiful DCP 2K/4K format with 5.1 surround sound in a stadium seating theater in Kyle TX.

Along with local filmmakers and film festival organizers, we are building a community. We want to bring everyone together to meet and greet, and enjoy the wonderful talent we have here in Central Texas. We do, however, accept films from around the world.

Rules & Terms

We are not accepting any more submissions for 2019.

Multiple films from one producer is allowed.

Five or more years ago, your knowledge of filmmaking and editing has increased. Pretend it is Star Wars. Re-color, re-edit, improve the effects, make it better. This is entirely optional. Let us know if you are going to redo your film. Please have your remastered movie done by end of July 2019.

Age of Film

Any film made and completed in 2013 and before are acceptable. This is January to December for these years.

Excessive Language and Content

The film festival is divided into two parts; child friendly and teen friendly. Adult language is acceptable, just not excessive. Nudity or full sex scenes are not acceptable. Foreplay talk is acceptable, in other words, we know what’s next but you do not see it. Violence is allowed, just not excessive.

During the child friendly part, the movies shown will have no adult language, adult conversation, adult situation, or violence.

During the teen friendly part, movies with adult language and content will be shown. Movies with violence will be shown as well.

Any films against the United States government or military will not be accepted unless the final outcome is the acceptable of the United States government or military.

We reserve the right to exclude any film submission without explanation.

We do ask our judges to give feedback to all selected films and not selected films in FilmFreeway.
