Master in Cinema and Semiotics, Marco Aurélio Gal wrote, produced and directed "Portraits of your face" featuring famous brazilian voice actress Tânia Gaidarji. This lesbian thriller was reviewed by brazilian author Patrícia Oriolo as "powerful narrative universe with poetic and aesthetic value". The short also showcases costumes from controversial "Xingu" collection, Gustavo de Carvalho's work censored during the impeachment of Dilma Roussef. The film had international premiere in Mexico.
Gal's next film is "Where the sky sets the clock” (Onde o céu acerta seus ponteiros), a guerilla film made in partnership with Museu da Diversidade Sexual. The musical gay romance is set to screen at the 21th ReelOut Queer Film Festival 2020 and was featured in dozens of festivals, film clubs and cruise ships in Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Canada and United States, where it won the "Celebration of Latin America" Award. It was raved by Falk Steinborn from German channel Queerblick TV: "the pureness of the story and the unforeseen play with cliches makes the film an example of how LGBT films can create a smile in the viewers face and make them feel hugged".
