Experiencing Interruptions?

Remember Me

Dido, Queen of Carthage, lives depressed by the losses in her life and the social pressure she suffers. Her best friend Belinda, who is an optimist in every sense, introduces her to Aeneas, the Trojan hero with the illusion that love between them will bring the queen out of her sadness.

Dido and Aeneas are immediately victims of that predicted love, but Aeneas after living an idyllic love with Dido, he hears ghosts in his head represented by Sorceress and the witches, who remind him that his duty in life is to found Rome and to follow his path as a hero and abandon his beloved Dido. Aeneas devastated by his thoughts, after hesitating, he decides to tell Dido that he must leave immediately. The story ends with the abandoned Dido in the final aria "Remember me".

----PROJECT NOTES

"Remember me" is a short film based on the baroque opera “Dido and Aeneas” by Henry Purcell. The story is told as a mockumentary, with the difference that the interviews are alternated with abstract scenes recorded in various parts of the city of Vienna and inspired by the Pina Bauschs Tanztheater, narrating the emotional state of the characters or the intensity of the situations. It was originally designed to be projected with live orchestral music that in turn includes a contemporary element that is the electric guitar, where the actors are the actual singers.
