Frank & Nick Romano are writer-directors based in Chicago, Illinois. With a passion for filmmaking since childhood, the brothers started their careers making terrible in-camera edited movies with their dad’s hand-me-down camcorder. Today, they run the successful video production company, Vanilla Video. Frank & Nick are both self-taught filmmakers, who bring a unique blend of art and commerce to their projects. Their latest short film, "Rematch," is a testament to their skills and creativity. With a talented cast and crew, "Rematch" showcases Frank & Nick's ability to craft character-driven, authentic, and entertaining stories. Their collaborative nature and ability to think on the fly make them sought after by clients and collaborators alike.
As filmmakers, we get our kicks exploring the complexities of relationships through physicality, composition, color, movement — in a word: visually. In 'Rematch', we delve into the dynamic of two estranged brothers as they face off at a drunken ping-pong match, opening up old wounds in the process. What drew us to the script was the idea of the game (and the day surrounding it) encapsulating the whole of their disfunction as siblings. How to explore that visually, sonically, narratively — that was the most fun we had developing the film. We are thrilled to be presenting 'Rematch' for festival consideration, and are eager to share this project with the world. Thank you for your time.
