The Children of my Father

The documentary film "The children of my father" is a story about the life of Sureya Imami.

But who was Sureya Imami?

First of all he was my father and I was rather his son, as he always called. I always knew him to be the first Albanian music teacher in Macedonia. But what I didn’t know was his influence over his former students, the events of his life, the problems he faced during his time as a teacher, educator and youth leader.
He rode a bicycle up to 2 years before he died. It was his way of communicating with the world. The bike, as he said, could stand anywhere, and it was a great opportunity for him to visit his relatives, friends and students. Especially every Friday after Friday's prayers, he will tie his bike to a fence at a state hospital and visit a sick, whether relative, friend or acquaintance who had come out of Skopje. He knew very well the pain and separation from home, because he "emigrated" in Skopje back in 50 years. He went there to offer comfort to those who most need them, he was a friend of those who had no friends, he was a relative of those that were most needed. This is only a segment of his life, this is only part of his story.
After his death, many people visited our home. I didn’t even know many of them. At those meetings they began to reveal details from the life of my father I did not know about. At these meetings I heard many interesting events from the life of my father.
This prompted me to start on a journey of the life of my father. The ride will be through various cities of Macedonia, where I will find students, friends and acquaintances of my father.
Through the prism of the cyclist, we would reveal the life of a man and his influence. Through different cities, different people, I will narrate stories of his life, stories which will supplement the mosaic of my father's life.
