NOTICE FROM FRANCE CONCERNING conspiracy against state security إشعار من فرنسا بشأن التآمر ضد أمن الدولة

Q: Does the Quai d'Orsay have any comments on the sentences handed down in the "conspiracy against state security" case in Tunisia?

A: We noted with concern the heavy sentences handed down at first instance against numerous individuals accused of "conspiracy against state security," including several French nationals, following the April 18th hearing. We regret that the conditions for a fair trial were not respected.

Several French, European, and related diplomats attended the Tunis Court of First Instance for the three hearings to demonstrate our close monitoring of this case, while respecting Tunisian sovereignty. However, diplomats and journalists were not allowed to attend the hearing on April 18th.

France is committed, in Tunisia as throughout the world, to the right to a fair trial, to an independent judiciary, and to the freedoms of association, expression, and assembly. The rule of law is everywhere the guarantee of the development of a stable and prosperous democracy.

أ: لقد لاحظنا بقلق الأحكام القاسية التي صدرت في الدرجة الأولى ضد العديد من الأفراد المتهمين بـ "التآمر ضد أمن الدولة"، بما في ذلك العديد من الرعايا الفرنسيين، في أعقاب جلسة الاستماع التي عقدت في 18 أبريل/نيسان. ونحن نأسف لعدم احترام شروط المحاكمة العادلة.

وقد زار عدد من الدبلوماسيين الفرنسيين والأوروبيين والدبلوماسيين ذوي الصلة المحكمة الابتدائية بتونس لحضور الجلسات الثلاث، وذلك لإظهار الاهتمام الوثيق الذي نوليه لهذه القضية، مع احترام السيادة التونسية. ولم يُسمح للدبلوماسيين والصحفيين بمتابعة الاجتماع الذي عقد في 18 أبريل/نيسان.

وتلتزم فرنسا، في تونس كما في كل مكان في العالم، بالحق في محاكمة عادلة، وبنظام قضائي مستقل، وبحريات تكوين الجمعيات والتعبير والتجمع. إن سيادة القانون في كل مكان هي الضمانة لتطور ديمقراطية مستقرة ومزدهرة.

#Question : Le Quai d’Orsay a-t-il un commentaire sur les condamnations prononcées dans l’affaire du "complot contre la sûreté de l’État" en #Tunisie ? 🇹🇳
#Réponse : Nous avons pris connaissance avec préoccupation des lourdes condamnations prononcées en première instance à l’encontre de nombreuses personnes accusées de « complot contre la sûreté de l’État », dont plusieurs ressortissants français, à l’issue de l’audience du 18 avril. Nous regrettons que les conditions d’un procès équitable n’aient pas été respectées.
Plusieurs diplomates français, européens et affinitaires se sont rendus au Tribunal de première instance de Tunis à l’occasion des trois audiences afin de marquer l’attention avec laquelle nous suivons ce dossier, dans le respect de la souveraineté tunisienne. Les diplomates et journalistes n’ont toutefois pas été autorisés à suivre celle du 18 avril.
La France 🇫🇷 est attachée, en Tunisie comme partout dans le monde, au droit à un procès équitable, à une justice indépendante et aux libertés d’association, d’expression et de réunion. L’État de droit est partout la garantie du développement d’une démocratie stable et prospère.
