Director Statement

Hi! First time director Rob D'Arc here to introduce my short puppet film "Pip & Squeek go Viral!"
Pip & Squeek are two comical puppet mice and have been my signature characters since the mid 1980s. The film is a mockumentary, spanning the decades of the character's somewhat less than successful television careers, and their subsequent revival as internet celebrities. The film was produced by Heather Henson to be included in her Handmade Puppet Dreams franchise which is available on Amazon Prime's roster.
I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease almost eight years ago, and because of the nature of the illness, tremors, fatigue, etc... I invited young Matthew McGee, the son of my oldest friend Randel, to continue Pip & Squeek's legacy in this film as well as future projects with the characters. Matthew had been attending my live performances with Pip & Squeek since he was a young child, and he is particularly adept at mimicking my original voices, and has a great simpatico working with me within the scope of this work. If the short film gets some attention, I see it as being a proof of concept for a proposed series, so hopefully, the characters can live on through Matthew. Thank you for your consideration of our film and I look forward to participating in future festivals as well.
Respectfully,
Rob D'Arc
