Pedro SIlva and João Guilherme Matos met in their early teens in Aveiro, Portugal, and bonded over their love and enthusiasm for the art of filmmaking. After long discussions over who was the ultimate movie buff, they eventually joined forces and produced a short film during the 2021 lockdown. Soon after, they launched the movie podcast 'Grande Plano'.
Pedro Silva, born in the small Portuguese town of Estarreja in 2001, currently lives in the Netherlands, where he is pursuing a Master's Degree in Aerospace Engineering. His passion for film goes back to a time when, as a child, he binge-watched the Disney animation library. Ever since then, his love for the seventh art has expanded, propelling him to explore it first-hand as an independent director. In his spare time, he enjoys playing the piano while reminiscing about his 10-year tenure as a handball player.
João Guilherme Matos was born in the windy city of Aveiro, Portugal. Early in life, he quickly became a firm believer that the cinematic experience does not end when the credits start rolling. After leaving the theater, he would go on to watch behind the scenes footage, interviews with directors breaking down the creative process of crafting a film and scheming through IMDB's trivia section. This curiosity led to passion, which eventually led to taking action by becoming an independent filmmaker. Besides filmmaking, João hosts a comedy interview podcast, writes bi-weekly humorous texts in his blog and loves to swim and play chess competitively.
Despite their Engineering backgrounds, the desire to explore the cinematic avenue keeps brewing inside their minds, thus leading them to continue and expand their filmmaking partnership.
