Director Biography - Oliver Ryan Anderson

A man of many talents, San Francisco native Ollie Anderson, also known as Oliver Ryan Anderson, is a director, actor, screenwriter, producer, photographer. His experience as a product marketer and platform creator in the golf world, building communities through creative content and engaging tech experiences, led to the creation of a micro-influencing Instagram account, @SanFrancisco_Toys, where he has grown a cult following based on his innovative story telling and his genuine, authentic - and at times extreme - toy photography.

Director Statement

I turned to creating this stop motion animation series when crime became so bad in my city, San Francisco, I couldn’t go outside to do toy photography… then came Covid-19. We became inundated with bad data everywhere, the citizens of San Francisco have been losing the war to have a voice, and as local with a small-to-medium sized family business, I got tired of being steam-rolled. I had to figure out a way to help the local families who for generations have made San Francisco a city of love.

I created an experimental stop-motion animation called BUNKERS to test the idea and talk about things I’m still too afraid to talk about directly. Surprisingly, it won a lot of awards world-wide like Best Animation, Best Special FX, and Audience Vote (to name just a few). People of all ages were connecting with the layers of story, characters, worlds, and the quirkiness of this stop-motion animation. They saw the finger prints, they felt the genuine authenticity, and they wanted more. I was humbled. BUNKERS created an opportunity to go bigger. As a result, I created this 30 minute proof-of-concept GREENS to begin to break-down barriers, create community, and help "diamonds" get out of the rough.

I designed GREENS to deliver mind-blowing value. There's more story, characters, worlds, genuine facts and history (including a putting technique any skill level can practice at home), and far more visual and auditory delight. GREENS pushes the boundaries between fantasy & education, stop-motion animation within the lifecycle of plants, and what is humanly possible within 18 months. I even wrote and performed an original song as one of the characters. Just like BUNKERS, you don't have to like golf to love this episode (or series)... but you may be inspired to start playing (better).

As we endeavor to survive in a world of dis-information, I hope this story and this series inspires the change we desperately need, especially in San Francisco. We’re losing our common sense and we cannot forget the elderly, persons with disabilities, and the families who struggle to stay together. This episode is full of easter eggs and is designed to be watched many times. I hope you give GREENS and THE ADVENTURES WITH STARLO VON SOURDOUGH series an opportunity because we desperately need your help. Together we can inspire change and unity despite any political party affiliation.

Wishing you health, success, and love from the Haight-Ashbury,

Ollie
