As a filmmaker, I believe my responsibility lies in creating art that insights emotion, conversation, and curiosity. In my final year of undergrad, I set out to curate a film that does just that. From the safety of our computer screens, we watch the world decay around us. ‘Quick Click and Ship’ Consumerism has started to show the true damage it is causing our society; environmentally and cognitively. The film titled, “Your Package Has Been Delivered!”, follows the main character, The Girl, who decides the only way to rid our society of the cyclical torture of online shopping is to take down the last chain of delivery; the postal service. Her strategy begins with stealing packages off of the porches of unsuspecting homeowners. As she embarks on her Robin Hood-esc journey she spirals deeper into realizing the devastation that has already been caused by extreme consumerism.
