The movie “A Father’s Diary” depicts a tale of a conservative father, Hassan Ali, who rejects and burns into the inferno when he discovers the unconventional and boundlessness love of his adorable daughter with neighbor’s daughter and even within his wife which leads into big domestic violence and huge drama to the family.
The journey of this project commenced when former Ontario premier Kathleen Wynne sex-ed added into the Ontario school curriculum which brought huge chaos across Canada. Ontario parents and all the religious believers opposed to sex-ed changes, even, threaten to pull kids from school; on the other hand, new generation, and students across Ontario walk out to protest Premier Doug Ford and the province rolling back the Sex Ed curriculum. At present, noticeably the LGBTQ community is growing rapidly, and similarly conservative communities’ protests are becoming diehard to retain their faith and beliefs. Continuation to this conflict, I started the initial dramatic storyline of “A father’s Diary” which was crafted into the cinematic embroidery afterward by the bunch of dexterous hands across the globe. More than two years of days and nights dedications of talented composers from New York to LA, vocalists from Toronto to Miami, animation & VFX studio from Canada, Europe, Bangladesh, India, Toronto, and most of all, the brilliant actors, actresses & crews from across Canada and USA, Bangladesh and Australia are being reflected and projected on the screen just for 114 minutes. There are mountains of research, prototypes, tool developments, and unwavering affords that are collaborated into this project which I cannot even emphasize enough in words.
It was my remarkable experience and great privilege writing the lyrics and spotting notes along with my talented composers, Sound Designers, and virtually working with all the gifted vocalists around the globe on daily basis.
Filmmaking rules are not written in stone, rather it’s an art that ought to be boundless as demonstrated throughout filmmaking history by building the rule, set up the benchmark, and also breaking the conventional rules; in this project, we looked and experimented outside of the box and intentionally crossed so many traditional lines to establish some new perspectives of filmmaking which the viewers may experience. Our endeavors will truly be successful once the project catches the viewers' attention!
