Gut Feeling
Often we don't even notice it, but we are more alike and similar being magically linked to each other’s lives than one could ever imagine.
As a prisoner of his own habits, one could appreciate, even thrive, in the so-called "safe" daily life for years, until a real life crisis possibly develops out of it. When this crisis reaches its peak, one could be so blindsided by this development that he is completely overwhelmed and shattered, not realizing what just happened. -Dead end.
Just when all is about to break, this is usually when something extraordinary happens! A feeling stirs within you, deep within in your soul that reminds you that you are alive and wants you to stay alive. This voice within you might be a shout, or even a subtle whisper, but the message is clear: “It’s over now!”. Now is the time to take responsibility and finally follow another path — your own path.

Born in 1984 in Eisenhüttenstadt, East Germany, I grew up in DDR, post WWII, until I was four years old. In early 1989, my parents and I anxiously jumped over the wall to West Germany, instantly becoming refugees. Life was instantly restless, unstable, and unpredictable until we finally found our way to Switzerland.
Living in Switzerland for 13 years, I went into dentistry, becoming a hypnotherapist for restless and anxious patients. I also got married, built a house, and owned two beautiful dogs.
Tragedy suddenly hit my previously “safe” life, as my best friend and father went very ill, having found out he had Pancreas cancer, and dying at age 50.
That was the ultimate wake-up call. It was that real life crisis that I finally realised what I must do: Do what you love to do, not wasting time with what others expect you to do!
So at 27 years old I gave up everything. One year later I was established as a creative ghostwriter, writing stories based on real happenings. This opened the door for my next creative journey — filmmaking.
In 2014 I made my first experiences in film, diving deeper and deeper into this whole new world. Having the taste of creative storytelling with film, but also completely financially broke after quitting my stable dentistry job, I left Switzerland for Berlin where I could completely dive head first into filmmaking.
By moving to Berlin, this was a profound and life changing decision, adding skills and technical knowledge, getting on-set experiences, producing and script writing, as well as building a strong network of like-minded creatives. The long line of amazing, strange, unique, and even nasty people in the film world has given me an amazing pool of inspiration, conflict, and stories to use along my own path in filmmaking.
Filmmaking saved my life, and that gives me happiness.
Happiness I want to share through filmmaking.

Following the path into filmmaking, it allows us to communicate in different perspectives, angles, and viewpoints about themes of life. Life itself is not black and white, but a vast and broad range of colors and gradients. As a filmmaker, you have the full color spectrum at your disposal, which is not only the key to creativity, but the key to humanity. Isn’t that powerful?
