Sick in Africa episode 2 - Reverse the Curse

Tim Cowley spent 13 years in sub Saharan Africa working in community and spiritual development with the Yawo people. Sickness was a regular part of his family's experience, and the differences to health practices and beliefs were a stark contrast to what he was used to as an American. He set out to tell a series of short stories that highlight cultural beliefs and practices in order to help foster thought and understanding when dealing with cross-cultural medical practice. He now lives in Portland, Oregon where he works in media production for non-profits around the globe.
