Experiencing Interruptions?

Home

A woman's journey to help her estranged father who has recently become homeless in Chicago finds them both at a turning point in their lives.

"HOME is everything I love about Chicago storytelling. These are complicated people with a complicated relationship existing in the uncompromising and unyielding and craggy beauty emitted from the Windy City. The performances and style of shooting give us an intimate look into these lives without gloss or flinch. Just like Chicago." - David Dastmalchian (These Creatures Here Below, Ant Man, Blade Runner 2049, The Dark Night)

Director Statement

This film explores an oft ignored section of society, older folks who are still searching for their way. The characters in HOME start without one, and by the end while they may not have found a physical home, they have found shelter in renewing their father daughter relationship.

I believe it's important to explore underrepresented voices in front of and behind the camera. Our film crew was over 50% women and non-binary folks including our director, writer, cinematographer and producer. This a truly Chicago production starring and written by two theatre veterans Francis Guinan (Steppenwolf founding member) and Carolyn Hoerdemann (Collaboraction). Shot on location with very little funds and a lot of heart. It is my hope that by telling this story we can bring a greater awareness and empathy to the homelessness crisis going on in our country.
