RUNNING BETWEEN THE CRACK OF TIME

Jack who comes to Chicago to look for his ex-girlfriend accidentally saves Mae who runs away from a Chinese gangster. During the journey, they slowly find out they are in a similar situation: they are both emotionally stuck in their past. However, are they able to get over the past and go for the future together when they separate and come across again?

Director Biography - Yicheng Xue

(KNE) Yicheng Xue is an international film-director, film-maker. Born in Xi’an, China, KNE is a recent graduate from MFA Cinema Production (Directing Concentration) at DePaul University, Chicago.

Before enrolling in DePaul, KNE had made a lot of various videos, commercials and short films, including directing award-winning short “Dinner” (7 mins, official-selection of Shanghai International Film Festival-Mobile Unit) and web-popular dancing MTV “Step-Up Fudan” (6 mins, more than 200,000 views at Chinese video websites 56.com and Youku.com).

With the professional training at DePaul, KNE is now more skillful at film-making and story-telling. He has directed top student films including "Running Between the Crack of Time", "One Last Song", "Hooked" and "Wake Up", over the years in school. The short film "One Last Song" was officially selected by "DePaul Premiere 2018" film festival and nominated "Best Directing" and "Jury Prize". KNE's thesis film "Running Between the Crack of Time" is running in the festival campaign now. At the same time, KNE is planning a documentary and his first narrative feature.

With a Chinese background, KNE is open-minded to both eastern and western cultures. He keeps creatively visualizing stories with his unique perspectives towards motion picture and art.
