Adam Groves has been an independent film director since 2006 and is well known in Brunei Darussalam as a pioneer to introduce internet web-series. He succeed to open up the capabilities of shooting web-series and short films by using a DSLR and exposing them up on Youtube.
Adam Groves has achieved lot of positive feedbacks when it comes to indie style shooting from handheld and instant rectro-scripting (directing a film on the spot without scripts) and turning it into a trend and trademark.
His dreams from the beginning of picking up his first camera was to shoot his first feature film after watching a Malaysian indie film called "Ciplak" (2006) which only had a budget of $10,000 (Malaysian Dollars) and only used friends who volunteered to be part of the movie. Adam thought he could pull this off himself without any filmmaking backgrounds whatsoever. His first trial was a flop.
He tried doing short films and web-series to gain his full confident in a proper script-writing and directing and also building a strong reputation in the Brunei film industry which later known by many.
10 Years later, he launched his first feature film "Primajaya" in 2016 with a budget of (USD2,000) and had lots of positive feedbacks. He is currently working on a second feature film.
He also runs a company called Visual Dimensions Production which specializes in TV Commercials, Corporate Films and Music Videos.
