The mission of the People of Color Creative (POCC) writing initiative is to connect minority writers and the minority filming community to a unique opportunity! A chance to create quality content and collaborate with WATZS Productions.

(1) one selected script will be produced and executive produced (financed/filmed) by WATZS Productions, LLC. At the completion of the project the selected writer will obtain 100% ownership of the final product.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

By participating in the initiative, each entrant agrees to abide by these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements, and understands that the results of the contest, as determined by WATZS Productions LLC, are final in all respects. The contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law.

Our POCC Initiative judges will review all submission and select a script. The selected script writer will be requested to attend the POCC Symposium and will be required to participate in the WATZS productions process for casting, rehearsals and pre planning to shoot their selected story.

The selected script writer will film their project in Dallas, TX. *Pending COVID-19 trends film dates are tentative and could change. WATZS Productions will produce and secure the selected script writers film crew, set locations and wardrobe to name a few. We will hand over the completed project to the selected script writer in an effort to help propel their film career!

Submission Guidelines:
15 pages maximum for script.
Script must be written by a Black and IPOC writer and must be the original work of the contestant. Use of copyrighted material is prohibited. Plagiarized entries will be disqualified. Plagiarism is defined as taking and using another person's ideas, writings or inventions as one's own.
Entrants must be 21 years old or older.
Entrants must reside in the United States of America.
Entrants must be willing to film in Dallas, TX
** all travel expenses will be covered for the selected writer.

The selected writer will be notified on November 13, 2023. Announcement and instructions for prize will be sent to the e-mail address supplied on the potential prize winner’s entry form. Each entrant is responsible for monitoring his/her e-mail account for prize notification and receipt or other communications related to this contest. The POCC writing initiative is non transferable, non negotiable and is not exchangeable for cash.

If a potential prize winner cannot be reached by Administrator within fifteen (15) days, using the contact information provided at the time of entry, that potential prize winner shall forfeit the prize. Prizes may not be awarded if an insufficient number of eligible entries are received.
