Derek "Derek." Yancey Jr. is a film director and cinematographer based in Gaithersburg, MD. He has won awards in multiple mediums, including film, photography, design and animation.
Functioning as both director and director of photography for films, music videos, and television. His technical approach to cinematography is primarily concerned with creating a distinct separation of light and darkness or chiaroscuro, while also using natural lighting to give scenes a realistic and natural feel.
Derek is a graduate from Regent University with a B.A. in Cinema & Television, and the founder of the production company, Moon Bear. Offering services which range from producing video content for agency’s, brands and production companies. To providing animated video courses for learning platforms.
Thank you to everyone who has embraced this film and the ideas expressed within it. I never thought it would have made as big of an impact as it has today but I am forever grateful.
