William Nicholas Clay is an innovative filmmaker based in South Carolina, celebrated for his fun and playful storytelling style. He directed the feature film Party Hard, showcasing his talent for blending humor and heart. In addition to his work in narrative cinema, William has crafted a series of compelling music videos for local artists, including E.Z. Shakes, Candy Coffins, and hip-hop artist H3ro. Passionate about highlighting his hometown and its talented artists, he continuously pushes his own creative boundaries by exploring multiple styles and genres in cinema through his own production company, Reel Vantage Films.
Inspired by the best decade for cinema (1970s), and the work of John Cassavetes, I just wanted to really wanted to craft a film that feels like you're there, in the city (Columbia, SC), with the characters, as we take this deep dive into this late-night bar scene that feels unique to the city that I grew up in. It truly is a character-driven film, and has all the rough edges of a first feature film you'd come to expect... while using that to create our aesthetic. And I couldn't be more proud of the film, and the city of Columbia, SC, for joining us on this crazy adventure and being a part of this film.
