Oormakalil Niraye

Siju, a young and restless marketing executive of an insurance company on a usual day meets a business prospect, Cherian Thomas who is leading a retired life from railways and well settled in his old age. Knowing that the old man has got enough money to invest, Siju tries with all his marketing skills to impress Cherian.

But the old man was too tough for Siju to handle even with all his trained marketing skills. However Siju manages to sell the product to Cherian and save his day, other official formalities to process the insurance makes Siju to do more marketing talks with Cherian.

Second time it was a different person that Siju met when he visited Cherian's house. Surprisingly exploded with anger and hatred, shouting in loud noise, Siju never expected why Cherian is behaving so unusually for unnecessary reasons and trying to put him out of the house.

Without knowing what is wrong with Cherian, Siju decides to peek into the 'old man's' window of life. And then, Siju had his unrealized experience of life which changed his opinion and way of thinking towards the 'old age'.

Director Biography - Suresh Padmanabhan

Suresh Padmanabhan (also known as Mr. K P Suresh Kumar) is a DOP and Film Maker from Kochi, INDIA. He is into the industry since 2003 and has completed a number of projects.

He has won the best photography award for his camera work in San Francisco Short Film Festival, 2008 for the Tamil short Film 'Theekkuchi'.

'Oormakalil Niraye' showcases the solitude, depression and frustration that 'old age' senior citizens now positioned in the modern globalized society. 'Oormakalil Niraye' goes through the perspective of a present day new generation eyes that accidentally came into the life of 'old age' and realizing the unseen less cared sides of it afterwards. The film is dedicated to 'Old age of the future'.
