#KK

"#KK" follows the journey of a talented aspiring actor named KK, who confronts the harsh realities of societal prejudices due to his dark skin complexion. KK, a young and ambitious lower-middle-class boy, resides in the suburbs of Mumbai, India, along with his widowed mother.

KK's ambition is to be an actor and star in films. However, from the outset, KK faces discrimination, rejection, and ridicule in the unforgiving world of showbiz solely based on his appearance. Despite his passion and talent, he encounters closed doors and limited opportunities, leaving him disillusioned and despondent.

The story sheds light on KK grappling with his own insecurities, battling against internal doubts, and confronting the external pressures imposed by a prejudiced society. Each setback he faces tests his resilience and determination.

As the narrative unfolds, viewers witness KK's relentless pursuit of his dreams amidst adversity. But in the end, does KK come out of people's stigma and make it big in the pursuit of his dreams?

The film sheds light on several prejudices, superstitions, and ignorant biases pertaining to colorism that still exist in an ever-changing, growing India.

Director Biography - Arjun Pankaj Razdan

Arjun Pankaj Razdan is a promising filmmaker hailing from Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, known for his ambitious vision and dedication to storytelling and the cinematic art form.

Born on March 31, 1999, in Mumbai, Arjun's passion for filmmaking blossomed at an early age, inspired by the vibrant cinematic culture of India's entertainment capital.

Arjun grew up watching cinema from all across the world, ranging from Japanese, French, German, Italian, Bollywood, and Hollywood cinema. Some of his favourite filmmakers are Sergio Leone, Quentin Jerome Tarantino, Stanley Kubrick, Akira Kurosawa, Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, Yash Raj Chopra, and more.

Arjun pursued his higher education at the prestigious University of San Francisco, California, United States of America (USA), where he honed his craft in Performing Arts and Social Justice with a specialization in Theater. Additionally, he pursued a minor in Film Studies, expanding his understanding of the art form and its various facets.

During his time at the University of San Francisco, Arjun distinguished himself as a creative force, actively participating in various theatre productions and film projects, taking on many roles ranging in direction, production, screen/script-writing, and even acting!

His academic pursuits were complemented by hands-on experience, allowing him to develop a nuanced understanding of storytelling techniques and narrative structures.

Notable Accomplishments:

At the age of 15, Arjun secured a prestigious internship at Prime Focus World and Double Negative (DNEG) in London, United Kingdom, where he learned and shadowed under several industry professionals.

During this time, Arjun actively engaged in diverse aspects of the filmmaking process, including providing comprehensive script coverage, developing foundational animation designs, and gaining valuable insights into the financial intricacies of the industry.

Thus far, Arjun has demonstrated his multifaceted talent by serving as director, producer, and writer on several noteworthy projects. These include the acclaimed social justice/drama film "#KK", social justice/drama film "DEVI" (2021), the upcoming action/thriller "The Knight Prowler" (currently in post-production), a COVID documentary titled "A Day… At A Time…" (2021), from an Indian perspective, and several other films.

Additionally, Arjun has made significant contributions to the realm of short-format content, directing various advertisements and commercials such as those for Bolt Sports Stacking (Toys & Games), etc.

Nonetheless, Arjun has starred (acted) in several main stage college and school productions.

Currently, Arjun is actively engaged in producing a web series in India alongside his team of fellow filmmakers.
