Experiencing Interruptions?

Nobody is Crazy

Rafa is a lonely teenager with OCD and his overwhelmed mother insists on giving him professional help or he will end up in a military school. Faced with the situation, he agrees to visit a self-help group where he meets a somewhat eccentric masked guy who states to be a time traveler. Rafa begins the search to find out if the young guy is who he says he is and came from the past or is simply a mental patient who escaped from an asylum.

Director Statement

"We are all crazy, to a greater or lesser extent," says Rafael, the protagonist of the film. I like stories in which the psychological baggage is important both for the construction of the character and for the plot of what is being told. By saying that we are all crazy, we want to imply that we all have our strange attitudes, our obsessions, our follies; and the important thing is that we can be functional with them. With this story I wanted to get into that, to see where is the limit between what is considered normal and what it is to be a little crazy, and as some feel social pressure to act like everyone, and like some others who don’t care that people look at them like weirdos do what they really want to do, whether it's being alone and reading a book in a park or walking around with a mask just like that.
I'm interested in time travel stories, but usually in the movies, to make it more cinematic they make the events of the present can change according to the decisions made in the past. Only a few films, such as 12 Monkeys, are based on the time-travel version in which everything that happens in the past is predestined to happen and things can not be changed. It is a challenge to put together a story with this kind of time travel.
If everything is predestined, then do our decisions matter? What is it that makes us us? What is that essence that does not change even if we change? I like the philosophical reasoning that can be found in a subtext of the plot. I hope they serve so that the viewer also asks some questions and enjoys the film in all its aspects.
