After personally observing the decline of a loved one who often came out of facilities worse than when they arrived, I created this series to give a voice to the millions of youth who might feel unseen or misunderstood.
Addiction is a lifelong battle. Those impacted (users, family members, and friends), often blame themselves and self-isolate. In reality, they need one another.
While many shows dealing with this issue depict teens living in the world facing everyday life while dealing with addiction, NEW BEGINNINGS keeps the focus on the teens living in the facility focusing around-the-clock on their health. Many have been abandoned by family members and so they have become "framily" to one another while working diligently through their own issues.
While NEW BEGINNINGS highlights serious issues, there are moments of levity throughout the episodes, as well.
I was incredibly blessed and fortunate to have worked with some of the most amazing young talents in the industry to bring this series to life! I hope you'll connect with the characters and continue to hope for all the best for the many teens who live with the impact of addiction.
Warm regards,
v.c.
