In the shadow – Part 2

"In the Shadow" is an intimate account of the recording of the album “Véspera”, by the Portuguese pop-rock band Clã. This two-part documentary follows rehearsals, recordings, meetings with different creative teams, discussions about the sets and costumes, filming of music videos, photo shoots, planning of concerts – everything that was leading up to the album’s release in early spring 2020, when covid-19 turned the world upside down.
The album was recorded before the pandemic, but listening to its lyrics in the present reveals new meanings that seem premonitory. How does a band – and the group of artists behind it – deal with a sudden obstacle that prevents them from acting and performing as usual? How do they face such challenges and manage to adapt in order to reach their audience?
This film tells the second part of that story.
