my body is a car

This is a video piece about my gender dysphoria, displayed using westernized, stereotypically binary male and female imagery/using Blondie’s ‘Heart of Glass’. I compare cars moving away from the camera to the standards of masculine and feminine beauty moving away from my body. The blonde, thin, and white playboy model is collaged over a New York street. I will never, to the average American, be a passing/cisgendered woman. There are sudden self-portrait sequences of my body, in action throughout my bathroom, which contrasts the video'ed motion from an every-day sidewalk.
