Mantrixa (Miguel Márquez) is a video editor, director, and audiovisual creator with a career spanning since 2006. His work merges technology, artificial intelligence, and digital aesthetics to explore innovative and experimental narratives.
With extensive experience in editing, visual effects, and post-production, he has developed projects in film, music videos, and visual arts. His works have been recognized in film festivals and digital creativity competitions. In 2023, he participated in the +RAIN festival with the short film "Finnish and Paranoid Dream", an AI-generated piece that explores the limits of perception and reality.
Morphogenesis is a journey into the fluid nature of identity, change, and transformation. Through the exploration of abstract forms and evolving visuals, the film reflects the continuous process of becoming—where nothing stays static and everything is in motion. It challenges the viewer to consider how external influences shape our inner world and how we, in turn, mold our reality.
The concept of morphogenesis, traditionally used in biology to describe the process by which an organism develops its shape, serves as a metaphor for personal and societal evolution. This short film dives into the interplay between technology, emotion, and identity in a world that is increasingly shaped by digital forces. I wanted to create something that is not only visually striking but also intellectually stimulating, where the boundaries between organic and artificial blur.
The project was deeply influenced by my experiences as an editor and creator working with AI, as well as my ongoing interest in how we perceive ourselves and others in an era dominated by digital imagery and virtual interactions. The abstract nature of Morphogenesis allows for an open-ended interpretation, inviting the audience to project their own experiences of transformation and self-discovery onto the visuals.
In this piece, I aimed to reflect both the beauty and the tension of constant evolution, embracing the idea that change is inevitable, complex, and sometimes chaotic—but always transformative.
